Campground Review – Sunrise Ridge Campground

In this edition of our campground review series we will be reviewing Sunrise Ridge Campground located in Hot Springs, SD.

Sunrise Ridge Campground is located off of highway 385 just outside of the historic town of Hot Springs. We booked a one month stay in the month of July 2023 and chose this location because we needed to be within driving distance of Rapid City. We prefer a quiet small town over being in a city. And quite honestly there’s not much to choose from that are decent and have a reasonable price in South Dakota.

Campground Review – Jim & Mary’s RV Park

In this edition of our campground review series we will be reviewing Jim & Mary’s RV Park located in Wye, MT.

This was our first visit to Jim & Mary’s RV Park and it was a place we were super excited about. Many folks on social media RV groups had mentioned this RV park as one of their favorite places in Montana. So we had high hopes and booked a stay for most of June and early July 2023.

Jim & Mary’s RV Park is located off of interstate 90 just outside of Missoula at the exit for US 93. The location is super easy to find and all you really need to do is make sure you turn at the correct street as the signage could be a little confusing.

Campground Review – Southern Utah RV Resort

In this edition we will be reviewing Southern Utah RV Resort located in Washington, UT.

This was our first time visiting Southern Utah RV Resort. We stayed at the location for the months of April and May 2023. The resort is located just off interstate 15 at the exit for Washington Parkway. Finding the resort is not too difficult as you can see it from the interstate. However, there is a lot of construction in the surrounding area. This causes some confusion as your GPS might not be correct until all of the construction is completed.

When we arrived in the area our GPS was thrown off because the main road to the resort is still under construction. As a result we needed to go around the development and pick up the road up on the other side of the resort. This is currently the only way to enter the resort until the road is completed.

There is also another resort close by and many people confuse the two locations. The location is great for travelers and people passing through. But until the construction in the area is completed this is something people will have to deal with.

Campground Review – Mesa Regal RV Resort (55+)

In this edition we will be providing a campground review of Mesa Regal RV Resort which is a 55+ resort located in Mesa, AZ.

This was our first time visiting the resort and we were there for a whopping 5 months. Now, our stated goal in our campground review series is to give an unbiased and unemotional opinion. We want our readers to have information so they can make an informed decision before spending hard earned money booking a site.

In the interest of transparency it should be known that we work-camped at this resort for the duration of our stay. The experience was less than ideal, to put it mildly, and not something we would recommend to our fellow travelers. We have documented that experience here if you would like to read more about it.

In this campground review we will attempt to take a step back from our work-camping experience and focus solely on the resort.

Operation Enduring Mesa

It’s no secret, we had a pretty miserable experience at our Fall/Winter work-camping gig in Mesa, AZ. While we wanted to give more details throughout the months of frustration, we refrained from doing so on the off chance someone at the resort would run across our blog and it would make it’s way back to management thus causing more problems. Not that we really cared what they thought, but there were other people who were work-camping there too and it wouldn’t be fair to them if things went sideways even more because of our blog.

While it might sound like we are giving our little blog too much credit when it comes to exposure, it’s not hard to put two and two together and figure out who we are when we are at a campground. It’s happened before so it can happen again and there were about 3000 people at this resort so caution was warranted.

Prior to this gig we had only one other work-camping job and we absolutely loved it. In fact, we loved it so much we became lifelong friends with the owners of the campground and we talk to them all the time. They actually sold the campground they owned and are now full-time RV’ers too!

Campground Review – Parkers Crossroads RV Park

In this edition we will be providing a campground review of Parkers Crossroads RV Park located in Yuma, TN.

This was our first visit to Parkers Crossroads RV Park and when we made the booking we were looking for a place that would provide some peace and quiet while still within driving distance of Nashville and Memphis. We only booked a two week stay, instead of our usual month or more, as the campground limits monthly bookings during their peak season. This is understandable as there is no need to discount your sites when you fill up every night and can charge the maximum amount for it. As a business person I would do the same thing.

Campground Review – Cummins Ferry RV Resort

In this edition of our campground review series we will be reviewing Cummins Ferry RV Resort located in Salvisa, Kentucky.

This was our first visit to Cummins Ferry RV Resort and it was one of those places that we hoped would live up to what we saw in the photos while we were researching places to visit.

Unfortunately, it is all too common for amazing photos to be posted online that are not always representative of the reality on the ground when you arrive for your stay. And when you are booking for an entire month arriving at some RV resorts and campgrounds can be very stressful because you are not always sure of what you are getting into until you get there and get settled.

To say we were relieved when we came around the bend and saw the resort for the first time, after driving down a long and narrow road towards an uncertain destination, would be an understatement.
