It’s hard to believe the time for another monthly update is already here. November seemed to fly by and with the end of the month came the end of our time in the Sedona, AZ area. We absolutely loved every minute of our time there and we look forward to returning next year. In fact we already made reservations for the entire Winter next year and have the option to work camp and stay for free!
We hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday and was able to spend time with friends and family. Thanksgiving this year was very different for us as it was our first as full-time RVers and also the first time we didn’t have any family around. But that didn’t stop us from having a good time as we had a wonderful dinner and lots of laughs with our new friends at the campground. One of the great things about this lifestyle is that you are always meeting new people and making new friends. We even learned that it’s a thing to have full-time RVer business cards to hand out to people you meet so everyone can stay in touch and meet up in other locations when paths cross.

One of the most asked questions by people looking to go full-time RVing is “How much does it cost?” The problem with answering this question is it is very subjective as the variables for full-time RV living seem to be unlimited and there is no uniform cookie cutter option when it comes to this lifestyle.
Just asking a few questions will make you quickly realize how much a full-time RV budget can vary between families:

Well it finally happened, we had a negative return month. This is our first month in the red since January, which is pretty remarkable, and even in January we were barely negative. In fact we would have to look back to October 2020 for the last significant negative month which shows that a correction was probably long over due. Of course everyone, including us, loves to see their portfolio go up month after month but in reality that is not healthy or sustainable. While it’s never fun to see your portfolio decrease, sometimes dramatically, these pullbacks create the opportunity to take up new positions, add to existing positions or to dollar cost average. Plus they are a healthy aspect of a long term investment strategy.

It’s been awhile since we have done a blog about products and gadgets we use. A lot has changed since we created our original lists of Favorite Gadgets, RV Essentials, Budget Items and Dog Essentials. Most of the things on those lists we still use but now that we are full time there are also some new items we started using and some other items we have considered purchasing that other RV’ers have recommended to us.
Since our previous posts are now a couple of years old and camping season is heating up it seems like a great time to do a blog with an updated list. In this blog we will list items we use or have used in the past as well as some items that are popular with other campers. If we do not use the product it will be noted to avoid any confusion.

2019 was a year of change and planning for our future.
After stumbling onto the F.I.R.E. movement and realizing we didn’t need to work into our 60’s, or even mid 50’s as we had always planned, we started taking our finances more serious. We cut back quite a bit on our spending and increased our savings rate nicely. We have never been able to accomplish a 50% plus savings rate because we have always had a sizable lifestyle and also took on the equivalent of a second mortgage with our RV. However, we did manage to move the needle in the right direction after cutting some costs and scaling back on frivolous spending.
On the downside, sort of, when I decided to move on from my job and start our business our savings rate went down to almost nothing for the last quarter of the year. Hopefully this is just a small set back as the business grows and contributes more to our finances. Continue reading “2019 Year In Review”
We would like to take a moment to wish all of our readers a happy Thanksgiving.
We appreciate your support and taking time to follow our journey.
In previous blogs we wrote about our favorite gadgets and essentials for your new RV in which we listed items we love using now or have enjoyed using in the past during our travels.
I read a lot of blogs and belong to a lot of RV groups and there are many gadgets and products that are very popular with RV’ers and campers. We thought it would be a fun idea to change it up a little and create a list of these items since they are popular and everyone’s needs are different. Please note that we have not used any of these products. Continue reading “Popular Camping Products”
We are now just a couple of days away from departing on our Summer road trip. The hard work, for the most part, is done. We spent this past weekend stocking up on food and shopping for the last remaining items on our need-to-buy list. Additionally, we spent a day at our RV going over our pre-trip checklist to make sure everything is in good working order and ready to roll. Continue reading “Summer Road Trip Final Preparations”
One of the things we enjoy most is taking our dog with us on road trips. He is our four-legged family member who brings joy to our lives and makes our home complete. He also loves the
camping glamping lifestyle as much as we do, as you can see.
